The good people of the EGA community have been laboring (in secret) to bring it's members a true blue podcast! Unfortunately you will not be able to subscribe to it via iTunes or an RSS feed (yet, we are working on it) but you will be able to: 1) listen to your friendly moderation staff talk about the latest and greatest in the video game world, 2) Hear them comment on specific threads and posts going on right here on our very own forums, and 3) respond in real-time to your own comments and queries, video game related or otherwise (common sense required).

As well, if you've been a good member of EGA you might just get to be on the podcast yourself! Hooray for everything! So feel free to post up any questions you have for the mods, whether it be our personal off-the-cuff thoughts on EA's recent attempt to acquire Take-Two, or what our favorite flavor of cheese could be. Swiss? Cheddar? Blue!? There's only one way to find out. The first one will take place on Thursday and be up for download shortly thereafter. Have all your questions posted in this thread by Thursday night if you want to have them answered.

Oh wow! Can't wait! ^___^

Here's one.....

What is your opinion for games? Have some of them set the bar high from 2007's lineup, with the deep storyline and "Deep meaning" to it?

(Did I word it right? >__<)

I think I get what you are asking, even if it is awkwardly phrased. My interpretation is thus: "After the bar set in 2007 by games like Bioshock, do you think there will be games in 2008 that will reach or exceed that bar?" Correct me if I'm wrong.

Keep those questions coming, everyone! ^__^

Yeah. >__< XD

Make sure to mention how great of a person I am and how I've been banned three times and have managed to return from all of them. Now, that's an achievement.

On a less self-centered topic...tell us how you think big games like Haze and Halo Wars will come out.

Okay here's a good question: In the gaming industry, would you guys rather see refinement of existing concepts, or the introduction of new ones in today's gaming industry? The answer will inevitably be a little of both, so if that is the case, which would you like to see more of?

I have a few questions.

Is the podcast gunna be weekly/monthly?
Is the cast of the podcast gunna change and instead of just having mostly mods could we have multiple forum members and maybe a special guest here and there?
What would be the time frame for the podcast (you wanna make sure that it's accessible for users in other timezones too)?

I have a few suggestions too.

You could do a top 5/10/whatever (different everytime of course) for each podcast.

I think that's all from me for now.

I can shed a little light on the subject.

We are not going to charge for this. We plan on pre-recording it and uploading it to some sort of server, whether it be Game Addicts or not, we don't know, but we'll find a way to distribute it.

Right now....it sounds like were going to try for weekly.....but if we can't organize people together in time, it may be more like bi-weekly or monthly. I doubt we'll set a certain day or time during the week to release it, just let you guys know here when its ready and you can download it after that.

We do plan on sometime in the future including members from time to time. Right now we're just kind of testing it out, seeing how popular it is, and getting the kinks all worked out before we turn it into a huge deal.

Hope I cleared a few things up.

Discuss Jack Thompson and Uwe Boll. :lol

We have to keep it family friendly.

:lol

Yeah, ditto everything MM said. We'll aim for a weekly podcast, and keep all you guys up to date on where and when you can download them. With any luck we'll be able to get it on iTunes or some sort of push technology where it will download automatically for your computer. Right now the goal with it is to have fun, test out some ideas, and keep in close contact with you guys for feedback and suggestions. For example, the top 5 or 10 idea sounds interesting. If there is something specific you want us to rank, by all means, let us know by posting it up in this thread.

I've seen a couple really good questions, so keep them coming. Remember, they don't have to be video game related either, so feel free to ask away anything you want, even more than one question at a time. I can't guarantee we'll get through them all, but there's no harm in throwing them out there.

Yeah, if we don't use them in one podcast, we may use them in the next one, or another one. :)

Okay, I tried to come up with some good questions and here's what I got so far. Question 1. Do you feel that the games, and gaming on a whole is becoming "dumbed down" to appeal to wider audiences? What I mean by "dumbed down" is just a general lack of difficulty in games and developers putting more effort into flash over substance. Question 2. What sort of features and unique attributes would you like to see in the next generation of consoles?

Oh, I like that first one. But I don't think I'll be on the first podcast, so stealth, you better save that one for a podcast I can be in! :lol Or at least let me answer it somewhere else. XD! :)

mininova.org is a great site if you would be willing to do torrents.
megaupload and rapidshare are two great sites for immediate download services.

As for the top 5/10 idea I was more leaning towards the hosts of the week to choose the topic for that podcast instead of leaving at in the open for everyone to see, make it more of a surprise for the rest of us.

Oh, I got another idea. Why not do reviews for games. Assign the game ahead of time to let the other people on the podcast know what is gunna be reviewed and if they can they could also do a review of the same game and we get different views on the game.

The next one we do will come out a couple days after Smash is released, so you can expect the second podcast to be very much a review of that game.

The first podcast was successfully recorded yesterday night. Myself, Creepindeth, and Mastermario were the three mods discussing the industry and EGA this week. Next week looks to have a full roster, with the same three as this week in addition to Kirbyrockz and Mai Valentine, so keep posting up any questions you guys have. I also wanted to apologize to HC as we were a little rushed in answering your question, if we have enough time on the next podcast we may revisit it for a more thorough discussion.

With any luck the podcast will be up and available for download tomorrow. I'll post a link to obtain it in this thread once it's ready. Right now we're looking at getting some intro and outro music. If anyone has anything cooked up on garageband or any other original, non-licensed music that they'd like to contribute for the podcast we'd love to hear it. Either e-mail the files to me or host them somewhere where I can download them (ex. rapidshare). We will work on making our own music for the podcast in the coming weeks if none is submitted by our members, but the first one or two may have to do without (so if you have some you want to contribute, contact me asap! :lol)
