MGS4 on Xbox 360, 12-14 months late

It boils down to it being a matter of taste...I never understood what people like about Splinter Cell, myself, but I don't hold it against people who do.

@fr0dus and boom, I put "IMO"...

but still, people love the series even with these issues! i dont understand!

EDIT - strubes, the first part of your post doesnt make any sense

Re-read that.

I'll help you out though. The PS3 owner (me) was away at WORK (which pays money) and some people who hate the PS3 (you) don't go to work every day (can't afford the PS3).

It's up to the next posters on whether this thread gets locked down. No more crap arguments about the PS3 vs. the 360. It's going to about Metal Gear only.

I guess I wasn't clear. Let me break it down again for those who either didn't understand or didn't read my comment. Reday? okay.

Do not use this thread as an excuse to trash talk eachother or spout fanboy trash. Strubes, I already talked to the other guys. Now you're included. One more stupid comment and this will get locked down.

Been playing Metal Gear since the NES, keep giving the series a chance but could never really get into it. Core issues:

1. Why can't you just take a gun from a guard you've killed?

2. Why do the guards totally forget about you just because you hid for a few seconds?

3. What's up with the long winded, overly dramatic bosses? Seriously, they should all go on Oprah and cry it out.

The only one I even remotely liked was VR Missions because it ditched the corny storyline. I guess it's one of those love it or hate it type things.

:lol sure thing dude. For the record, I didn't read the entire three pages of this thread looking for some post you made.

@Frak - I liked MGS2, but never played MGS3. I did, however, watch my friend play through it. I liked that you had to find your own food and medicine and stuff. The camo helps out alot too.

1. They expressed this in MGS2 the guns have some type of Identification scanner on them. If you aren't the right person it'll lock up and wont be able to shoot the gun.

2. ALL Stealth games are like this. Even Assassins Creed had this issue.

It's a gameplay thing....most stealth sequences in any game have this. If it was too realistic and the guards never forgot about you, it would change the game. You just have to suspend your disbelief for a while. :lol

If you actually got caught by the guards, they will blast you. Then, you have to brek their line of sight and hide. They will look for you for like 2-3 minutes (Not a few seconds) and after they dissmiss the reinforcements, the guards on patrol will be more alert. I cant see that as "Forgetting about you after hiding for a few seconds"

Or, you can totally eliminate this issue and just play the game on extreme difficulty :P

Quick thing, for someone wanting everyone to look past the PS3's high price, it's all you seem to bring up when someone says they don't like it.

Anyways, considering the PS3 price, most people won't buy it until later when it's cheaper. And by that time, MGS4 will probably be on 360. :/ There goes that for Sony.

Who says they won't drop price in March or even during the summer?

No one, but who said they will? That's slightly more important.

Alright, they've also had a track record of winning with the least powerful console.

But honestly, they're taking a big hit with making each PS3, I doubt a price drop will come without more lost tech.

Oh so over time the process in making a console is gunna be the same price? And you're seriously gunna tell me that the loss of backwards compatibility is why people aren't gunna buy a PS3?

It's still expensive to make.
