Official BioShock 2 Thread

I don't know about this. One of the greatest things about Bioshock was entering this strange, incredible place as a total outsider and slowly uncovering the mystery of what happened. The atmosphere was very engrossing and made it genuinely interesting to find out what the heck was going on there.

But with Bioshock 2, there is none of that, because the first game answered all those questions.

That is EXACTLY why I have my doubts over BioShock 2. Most of the awe and mystery surrounding Rapture is gone.

I agree. This seems like it'll be more of an action title than an eerie, creepy title.

That's a bit disappointing. I'm sure the game will still be fun but the first was so unique in the ambiance of the setting which is what made it so enjoyable to play. I hope it doesn't turn too much into a simple FPS

Here he comes...

I really don't like the way the new ones look. They're far to sleek and futuristic. What happened to the lumbering cyber-punk giants from the first game?

actually to me it looks the complete opposite of futuristic XD

Well it's a lot more futuristic than the old Big Daddys. BioShock had that Fallout asthetic, where all their technology, though advanced, had a 50's art deco style (and in the case of BioShock, many things were made from everyday objects due to a lack of resources and mass production). This Big Daddy is just going against the aesthetic that was created in the first game.

Ever since Andrew Ryan decided to go out for that pack of smokes (our mom says he's coming back; just you wait!), there's been nobody to tend to the leaky pipes and roving packs of splicers in Rapture. Well, according to GameTrailers TV's Geoff Keighley, someone's finally decided to step in and assume the leadership role for BioShock 2, and we'll find out who on Thursday's episode.

In another tweet, Keighley promised plenty of "new single player info and footage" and even teased that the episode will also reveal new characters -- something we already knew was planned for the sequel. You can catch the special BioShock 2 episode this Thursday night, October 22 at 12:30 a.m. ET on Spike.
