Which video game system do you think had the most good quality games?

WHy? ... please do explain :)

†B†V† :hat

The SNES of course... it had the greates RPG's I believe... and those can keep me busy for the longest times.

Whoa, tough one. I guess I have to go with the SNES as well. The N64 didn't last long enough to get a lot of great games on it, and I'm kind of anti-Sony right now. The Xbox and GCN don't have much either, though of the two I have to go with GCN.....so SNES is my final answer. I wish the N64 and GCN had been backwards compatible....

tough call. i like the psx, nes, and snes
each has its areas of greatness to me
psx brought me my fighters
snes brought me more rpg's
nes brought me so many cool random games that make no sense but play for many hours
so i'm not sure which out of those three = /

lol very true.

Mine would have to be a tie between SNES and PSone. SNES because of so many classic games, PSone because i'm biast and love Final Fantasy too much :p

Well, never having owned a SNES it still manages to be one of my favorite consoles, due to various *legal* activities I've pursued on my PC, but that's another story. However, I am a die hard fan of the 64, even for OOT alone. For some reason I found the 64 the perfect means with which to make a game. It had the capability of making vast, immersive graphics but was still low end enough to make the graphics functional. What I mean by this is, well, for example, in OOT travelling Hyrule was an amazing experience because you could see all around you, the sky, the castle, Lon Lon Ranch, etc., but Hyrule itself was surrounded by one texture of trees, but you never questioned it. In today's games you can't simply put up a wall and tell the character you can't go passed it just because, it would completely draw you out of the experience. As well, on the SNES, God knows I love it, I played fun games, but not epic games. I could never get so into a SNES game that I forgot I was still playing a game. It just didn't pull you into the story.

To me the 64 was the perfect blend of graphics and gameplay, though I still think there were few developers who took advantage of it.

My vote is the N64. I had the biggest collection of N64 games compared to any other system I've ever owned. Probably almost double any system I've ever owned, actually. Definitely the most time spent on any system as well.

Epic bump?

7 year bump? Daaaaaaaang.

I'm going to say PS2, with N64 as a close second. PS2 had such a massive library... So many great games.

Wow I'm surprised I never responded to this. I would probably say the PS1. Back in the day it was my largest collection for a console (now it's the 360, but majority of them aren't mine).

Oh mah goodness MM is either bored or just loving resurrecting threads from the dead!

NES. Hands. Down. The. Best. Ever. Bet you paused in your head when you read that, huh?

I am going to go with the playstation 1 or 2 because to this day I have yet to finish all PS1/PS2 titles I have been wanting to play and that is just RPGs alone.

I totally agree with the 2004 version of myself too! :lol

Geeze, have I always been that incoherent? Sure I was only in grade 11 back then, but still.
