PS3...thoughts so far

And like I said before. In the PS3's first three months, it sold 50 thousand more consoles than the 360 did in it's first three months.

The PS3 has only sold more than the 360 because the 360 had HORRIBLE issues getting 360's to stores until late February.

This is like declaring the winner of a race after the first lap, and completely ignoring the other 499.

That's exactly what I've been saying. It's far to early to tell what's gonna happen to the PS3. Sure, the games suck now, but this will change over time.

Well, the PS3 had problems of it's own too. In fact, it seems that every console since the cart was declared dead has had issues at launch.

Umm...there's never been a shortage of PS3's where I live. Honestly now. :lol

I might actually get one in a year or so. There's some games I'm really excited to play. For example, Kingdom Hearts 3, FFXIII, Ratchet and Clank Future. Not all's bad for the PS3. Just right now, as of this very moment, to me, it's a waste.

"Horrible three million." So three million gamers purchased the PS3. And that's bad?
Actually, only about two million, because a lot of people bought two to sell one on EBay. And yes, that is bad, considering it's less than half the second place consoles sales, and because the PS2 is outselling it.

Only counting the consoles that were purchased for home use and not for resale is meaningless. Because Sony sold the same amount no matter if someone turned around and resold it, someone dropped one or one got stolen.

And to use yet another race analogy, it doesn't matter where you begin in a race. Because you still have a race ahead of you. So what if the PS3 is in third place? The future of the Wii as far as games is up in the air, while the PS3 has a huge lineup just waiting to be released. And the Xbox i360 is chugging along at a good pace.

Oh, and when I bought my Cube, I didn't care where it was in the console war standings. And I am sure I am not the only one. ;)

Yea that happened with the 360 too...

EGM has a huge article on upcoming ps3 games and i have to say that i am impressed and am seriously considering getting one by the end of the summer... i thought it was screwed too and a waste of time... but hey

That's why we were on the subject of gamers buying it. Not consoles sold, gamers buying. Oh, and, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda Wii, Animal Crossing Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Harvest Moon Wii, Pokemon Battle Revolution, and more. Those are just first party games coming out. Don't forget the yearly sports games with motion control and others. Compared to FFXIII and MGS4, both of which, will probably be lost to the 360, because making PS3 games takes a ton of money.

But the Cube wasn't in the war....it was the red-headed stepchild that had 2 or 3 good games. :lol

The Cube wasn't far off from second. At the real end of the war(not counting now, where PS2 is still selling more than PS3), GCN had 21mill, Xbox had 24mill, and PS2 had 112mill.

Yeah yeah. I have more than 2 or 3 games for my Cube, and I think all of them are great. :D But just in case, my point was I couldn't have cared one way or another how many other people purchased the Cube, Xbox or PS2 when I made my purchase. My goal was to expand my collection so that I had more choices in games to play when I wasn't doing anything else.

I have seven Cube games and 10 DS games. The Cube had both Primes so far, SSBM, Twilight Princess, Zelda; Collectors, and Wind Waker. That's 9 great games.

Congrats, you can count. :lol

Great games are opinionated. To me, Zelda is garbage...and Primes didn't do anything special that caught my eye. That's just my opinion.

Prime was a surprisingly successful transition of Metroid into 3D. Can't say the same for Sonic. Oh, and in case the counting thing was pointed at my great games list, Zelda: Collector's Edition had four games on it.

Nah, I was applauding the fact that you can count. :lol

I know, I had the collector's edition. I guess you had to like the games before to actually like it, cause I thought all 4 games were garbage.

Zelda's great, and thankfully, each in the Collector's brought something new, not like Zelda's now. Zelda I brought Zelda, Zelda II, sidescrolling(eh), OoT, 3D world, MM, time travel, masks. Each was nice and fresh, and MM is still on top of my favorite Zelda list.

i find it funny that all we can find to talk about in the ps3 forum is about how much it sucks.

that's quite humorous.

I think it's funny that all people can find to talk about on the 360 forums are week old threads about Halo 3's release date, which have gone off-topic and now everyone's talking about the PS3. That's quite humorous. At least we're talking about the PS3 here (not counting the last few posts about the Gamcube). The 360 doesn't even have threads about the 360 that are still getting posts.

It's quite humorous that people actually spend their hard earned cash on a 60GB garbage can, now that's humorous.

You say this now. But in six months to a year, everyone will be saying things like, " I always loved the PS3." Because that is what happened when the PS2 started having all kinds of games released for it.
