Okay, I just remembered a quote from the conference that happened a few days ago. Reggie was talking sales chart, and said 'This high line up here is the DS, still widely popular. This line right below it is the Wii. Below that, surprisingly, is the PS2. The PS3 is down here at the bottom, just holding off the GBA.' So, Sony still has problems they need to work out, mainly the high price.
Blu-Ray is not going anywhere. Why? Because not only are there movies in this format, the games that are being developed are using this also. Now, those who are complaining about the price would love for Sony to dump the Blu-Ray, but the funny thing is tehse same people are the ones who are complaining about the lack of games. And tossing the Blu-Ray format now would alienate third party developers who would then be forced to make games in a different format.
So, my suggestion? Pick one "fault" with the PS3 instead of two potentially contrdictory "faults." At least then you'll have a leg to stand on when bashing the PS3.
And once again, "millions of units sold" is a moot point as of now. And especially when compared to consoles or handhelds (Wii excluded) that have been firmly established.

Blu-Ray should never have happened. Who wasn't fine with how HD Xbox looked? Xbox still has more lookers, and it's because of the Blu Ray that it's so expensive and hard to make a game. They're intertwined.

And the reason the PS3 is losing all its exclusives is because of hard, and costly, game development.

Well he can post on this topic because he has an opinion on the subject. :lol I personally cannot wait for the PS3 to get these great games I keep hearing about. Oh man, Kingdom Hearts 3, FFXIII, Ratchet and Clank. But as of right now, it's the worst system for me. Also, most people with real jobs also consider the price to be too high...sorry we can't all have the money you have.

The real reason on why the PS3 is losing third party exclusives is because third party developers and publishers are now realizing that it is more profitable to offer their titles on multiple platforms. One thing they could do is change up each version slightly so as to retain some sort of exclusivity.

Barely. $600 is too much for the average person to spend, and that's reflected. Blu Ray is a waste of money, no one wants to pay $1000 for slightly better looking movies.
Depends on a person's priorities. I know when I wasn't married, no kids, no house payement, etc, I would have dropped six bills on a PS3 in a heartbeat. But right now I'll most likely buy one during tax season depending on if I pick up a 360 before that.
But Neo is right on the Circuit City analogy. A lot of places are doing "no intrest" plans because the economy isn't exactly perfect. And $53 a month is cheap. Plus, other places do trade-ins on older consoles. There are plenty of options out there short of selling your blood for the average gamer to buy a PS3, 360 or even a Wii.

The Wii is cheap, that helps it. The PS3, with its $60 games, and Blu-Ray format, really hurts it.
I know, but all I am saying is that $600.00 is really not a lot for what you get in the PS3 (and especially when you get all those interest free deals for 1 year or more in some cases). Trust me, as me and others have said, I would love the PS3 to be $249.99 or $399.99. Why would I want to spend more? But, it is not, and for what you get it really is not that bad of a deal. *It helps that I have a 1080p TV so that made my decision to get the PS3 all that easier.
