Really now? The 360 edition supports 1080p...

It doesn't. Most 360 games say that but, the disc that the games are on can't play full 1080p. You can play it on a 1080p tv with the hdmi cables but, it really is only 720p at best.

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

okay lemme take a picture to show you.

1080p.jpg

And that's in component cable, not HDMI.

Now are you SURE you can't run it in 1080p?

Yes, I forget where the link is..but there's few 360 games that actually handle 1080p, and this isn't one of them.

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

Strubes and I are now on Chapter 6-3, the last chapter. We're going to finish the game tonight.

My grandma's tv says it supports 1080p, and will say that the movies she's watching are in 1080p, but they're not. Her blu-ray movies will show as 1080p and actually BE 1080p, where as her regular dvd's will show that they're in 1080p, but they're not. It's just showing the best resolution your tv can possibly give that disc.

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

Psh, she says she knows no Tim from Texas! >:( :lol

But either way, the game looks good. However, after playing KZ2, it's gonna take a lot for me to say a game looks great on a console. :lol

Component cables can't even do full 1080p. You need HDMI to get full 1080p.

Also your TV may be running at 1080p that doesn't mean that your game is.

That's what everyone says about HDMI Vs. Component, but I've compared again and again. I still can't see the big difference. All I understand is, if the TV can support the signal, it doesn't matter which one you use.

Yet please, tell me or show me. I've been trying to figure this out for the past 2 years now.

I have no clue what that is, but curse you for spoiling it. :)

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

HDMI can do both video and audio. Also HDMI can stretch out more than that of component and component cables may not work on some frequencies, and say in the future if there were to be newer resolutions which won't be surprising, Component will not be able to provide that those resolutions since Component is at it's limits as is. Though your TV can play component without a hitch, the TV in my living room cannot use component whilst the TV in my bedroom can.

Yes, Component cables can display 1080p. But it only works if you're console/DVD player/etc. supports 1080p through Component. I don't believe the Xbox 360 supports it though, unfortunately.

As whether RE5 is in 1080p or not. It's not. 720p on the PS3 and upscaled 1080p on the 360. Of course, you can force the PS3 to upscale to 1080p as well.

What size is your television? You will not be able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a set smaller than 46". Unless you sit very, very close. And even then you probably can't. Once you get a TV bigger than that, the difference becomes noticeable.

On smaller sets, you will only tell the difference if you're using low quality Component cables. In that case, HDMI will appear superior.
