Silent Hill.

So I saw this movie yesterday with my girlfriend and a friend of mine (Mattikar). Every small bit of review I had seen prior and or information from anyone was completely negative. But when we got there, the movie was beginning that minute so we just jumped inside.

Damn it's great! The aural experience is above and beyond any video game movie I've ever seen. Truly, the music composition half-way makes the movie. But of course, let's not forget the absolutely fantastic cinematography. Some of these camera angles once the movie begins are really wonderful, they feel as though it's a game. Sometimes it even feels visually as though it's a game. It's great.

The special effects are also very well done. It creates a very sickening atmosphere. I wouldn't say it's a scary movie at all, but definitely a journey worth applying for. Come on, go see it!

I promise you, it's good. Take it in without any reservations and enjoy the music, video, cinematic, special effects, just enjoy. Enjoy!

I saw it on day one. I think it's an okay movie. I gave it a 7/10. The acting was horrible and laughable. I know it's a video game movie but everything seemed so cliche. The only thing worth watching is the actual "scary" parts and Pyramid Head makes his presence felt despite being in the movie for a short time. He stole the movie in my opinion.

So for me it was just ok. Not that great but has some rewarding parts. It's definitely disturbing.

I read your review on it in the other thread creepin. I think I wanna go see it just to see this Pyramidhead dude. Kind of a corny name, but oh well.

Don't worry you won't be dissapointed with Pyramid Head. :)

Pyramid Head was awesome. No one killled him and took his sword, that was dissapointing. Would have been funny to see Rose drag that thing.

I hope that didn't ruin anything about the possibility of his death. :-\

Except you've already said he is in the movie...

Again I could be lying, though it is supported that he exists in the movie through the trailer and through what everyone else has said. How do you know I haven't scavenged that information?

lol whatever the fact of the matter is..I really wanna see this! I'm going out to buy FF: Advent Children today first though.

Maybe nostalgia has a large part to play in the overall enjoyment of the movie.

The movie pretty closely follows the plot of the first Silent Hill game on the old Playstation. It adds some more plot subtext and has a way more butch she-cop... But it still overall follows the first installment of the series.

I do have to suggest though, to those who have not played the games, that the movie might be somewhat confusing or maybe just seem stupid. I think that this is one of those movies that you have to know the background to enjoy.

So, if you've played any of the Silent Hill games and liked them, go see the movie, you'll dig it.

If you haven't played the games (or even watched someone play the game), this is one that you should probably sit out...

Butch Cop?! I'd hardly refer to Laurie Holden as butch. See for yourself.

Anyone remember Marita Covarrubias?

As far as the film is concerned I enjoyed it, though I did feel it a bit slow in some spots. I believe it was a movie that confused a lot of people because I felt that if you never played any of the games then the story would seem confusing. I totally dug the ending. Nice, nice. 8)

I never even played the first Silent Hill (though I do have it) and I still enjoyed this movie to the maximum. It's worth seeing for the music alone!

Could be, but I think it still could have been way better. The acting was just horrendous. It was pretty painful, and laughable, in some spots. I think that ruined quite a bit of the movie.
