Tales of Vesperia coming to PS3 (Told You! Edition)

Well, it will be enhanced, but that's expected. They always do that when they release it on another system long after it's already out on another system. It's kind of like "Hey we're sorry we made you wait so long. Here's a cookie."

I'm glad more people will be able to play it, though.

I will definitely get the PSP game. I always thought it would be cool to have a Tales fighting game. ^_^

Yeah, I'm kind of intrigued by the new character in ToV too. I wonder how they're going to incorporate them into the game's story.

i had that thought of a fighting tales games since i saw viva tales of XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRa6GsC5Om4 (i think the fighting game part is in part 2 though)

well these new kinda piss me off oh well might as well sell the 360 version and get the ps3 version to finally be able to play it.... still...namco should stop doing this >_< either make it multiconsole when it comes out or add the features of the new version to the old version through DLC, it is just not fair for some fans.

Omg, if they add like extra characters like they did with Eternal Sonata...I'm sold...

but a fighting Vs. Tales? I'm SOLD!! :D Wait..PSP? crap :(

I was thinking it would be like Eternal Sonata, where the new character is not actually new, it's just a character that was previously unplayable.

But according to Wikipedia, the new character is actually new.

Patty Fruel, a young pirate girl exclusive to the PlayStation 3 port of the game. She makes use of knives and guns and bears a resemblance to the pirate class of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2. She apparently speaks like an old person apart from that not much more is known about her thus far, however it is confirmed that she would be a main character.

Someones been rewriting that wikipedia page since yesterday. Adding multiple citations for the same thing and such, people are so fast and speedy.

But anyway, this is going to be the highlight of this year. Hopefully they release it in the same month as they do the Japan one. Im going to preorder it as soon as possible.

Pirate chicks are hawt :lol I'm sold, but I wonder how she will fit into the storyline?

I wouldnt be suprised if they add and modify the story as well, add additional details and elements. They did quite a bit to Eternal Sonata if I remember the blog posts they used to put on the Playstation.blog.

OH new details from IGN.

Before Wii gets its second Tales game through Graces, PS3 get will get its first one through an updated port of Tales of Vesperia. As detailed last week, this update adds a new character, the pirate girl Patty Fleur.

Patty is voiced in the Japanese version by Chiwa Saito. The area of voice looks like a major point for the PS3 version, which apparently features twice as much voice as its Xbox 360 counterpart! Hopefully that doesn't mean the PS3 version's English release will arrive too far beyond the Japanese version!

The PS3 version also promises a number of other updates, including new scenarios and events. It will also have some form of tie-up with the Tales of Vesperia animated movie that was also announced next week.

More voice acting is great! I remember the demo didnt have every part of it voiced.

A tie-up with the animated movie, huh? This makes me wonder, could they be thinking about releasing the movie on Blu-Ray as a package deal? And double the voice acting? Freakin' sold.

Ah, more than double the voice acting.

http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1223296_1124.html

It's in Japanese, but they said they're doing FULL voice acting for the main quest because Blu-ray allows them to have the space.

So what else is so new about this edition? Here's the low-down

Source

1) While the Xbox 360 version did not have full voice, the PS3 version will.

2) One voice actor even said the additional voice script for the PS3 version was almost as long as the whole Xbox 360 voice script.

3) New cutscenes and subplots are expected to be added, plus new outfits as well.

4) The PS3 version will tie-in with the upcoming anime.

5) The new character was of course created by illustrator Kousuke Fujishima, who designed the other Vesperia characters and who is best known for creating manga You're Under Arrest. Fujishima also did character design for SEGA series Sakura Wars. Fujishima has done character work for Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss as well as the previously mentioned Tales of Vesperia.

Sakura Wars artist was working on Tales of series, all this time? No wonder it rocks so hard....Segata Sanshiro would be proud ^_^

New Outfits? I never got into the searching for outfits in Tales of Symphonia. lol.

Hopefully they even voiced instruction screens. "PRESS THE X BUTTON TO ATTACK". Its so convenient!

Yeah Strubes, seems like they are really making it worth it that PS3 owners waited.

Now if only SE decided to make the move in the area of that Last Remnant port, as well as someone bringing Star Ocean: The Last Hope over!!!
