I liked it so much more than I thought. ^_^
Haha, same here.Aya-kun is mine said:Im reading Breaking Dawn at them moment ive loved the seires so far. Tho i kinda lost track and go side tracked should have finished his ages ago but ive gone back to it now must finish it
Dang. I'm still reading Atlas Shrugged and I've noticed this slightly. (Not that far yet XD) I loved The Fountainhead. That was the basis of Objectivism was defined in it and I can see where you're comnig from in Atlas Shrugged. The philosophy in it isn't as strong. :/Homicidal Cherry53 said:mmkay, 700 pages and I'm about ready to give up. This book is such a mess. I've been reading like crazy because it always seems like something significant is about to happen, but instead I get hundreds of pages of random barely connected events thrown in there just so she can demonstrated her philosophy again, using lifeless and uninteresting characters. Not only that but everything is suddenly focused on money. Whereas the Fountainhead glorified individualism, art for art's sake, and not letting the opinion of the masses change that art, Atlas Shrugged now makes the ability to make money the ultimate virtue that should stand above all else. I feel like she's spitting right in the fact of every ideal she presented in the Fountainhead because, by the standards of Atlas Shrugged, Roark should have conformed to public opinion and start creating buildings that would satisfy the customer the most. This idea that everything should be hinged on money just destroys any notion of individualism she previously shows, as anyone who has no interest in making money suddenly has no virtue. Such single-mindedness would cause people to focus on their customers rather than themselves, the collective rather than the individual.

That's why I liked Roark. Dagny is more like Dominique in the beginning of Fountainhead. I kinda thought of it that way.Homicidal Cherry53 said:Yeah, the Fountainhead was all about glorifying the individual, and I really liked that. I can't help but feel that that spirit of individualism has been betrayed. :-\
Well enjoy, it's a fun read. ^^ (I really enjoyed it.)Fr0dus Maximus said:Started reading Fountainhead because you guys got me curious.
Same. A bit on the long side, but still a good readGamingMaiden said:Well enjoy, it's a fun read. ^^ (I really enjoyed it.)
It took me a while to read because I was busy and I kinda took a moment to think of the chapter when it ended. I'm just odd like that. :lolHomicidal Cherry53 said:Same. A bit on the long side, but still a good read
