Wii's reign was short-lived

Really, until the next Halo trilogy gets released, this'll have been the biggest. It is a fun game.

And now with the numbers being released for September, the 360 has retaken the lead. Not just for the month, but in overall units sold. By over two million! Pretty incredible how much of an impact Halo 3 had.
Uh, you do know the totals are only North American sales figures, right? The Wii is still ahead in worldwide sales. The 360 has only gained about 20-30 thousand units on the Wii, which is still in the lead in terms of total worldwide sales.

Its not a big surprise that Halo 3 moved so many 360's though. I don't think anyone was expecting poor sales from a Halo game.

Ummmm why are we talking about the wii on a 360 board?
We aren't. We're talking about the 360's sales for last month. Strubes thought the 360 had pulled ahead of the Wii in total sales, hence the title. This topic is mostly about the 360 though.

Not necessarily. Master Chief's story is done, but I wouldn't be surprised if FPS's set during a different time in the Halo universe were released.

Wikipedia: Untitled Halo project

Main article: Untitled Halo Project

An untitled Halo project was announced on September 27, 2006 at X06, to be co-written, co-designed and co-produced by Peter Jackson, with his recently-formed Wingnut Interactive. It was later revealed that it would in fact be a 'New trilogy' of Halo games, not one. It also has been confirmed that it will be episodic.

You people should stop assuming I just say stuff for the hell of it.

>_> Read that again. Also, as in, it's still a trilogy.

In the U.S., yes. What part confused you Homi?
Actually, I'm still confused. The Wii never manged to pass the 360 in the U.S, did it? So did the Wii ever have a reign in the U.S?

Also, I wouldn't say I'm freaking out about this. I'm just well...confused.

Thats the movie dummy.

EDIT: Whoa...can you give us a linK?

The Wii must've outsold in the US for a lil...cause the link says the 360 took the lead.
I think they were talking about the 360 leading just for the month of August.

No, Hines is right.  The movie is basically dead.

I would like to see a link too, though, to the project fhq is talking about.  I'm surprised no one's really heard of it yet.

EDIT: Found one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untitled_Halo_Project

They don't really seem like full games though. They sound like the episodic content that came after Half Life 2.

I don't think so. The 360 selling over 5 million in August alone? Nah.
Omg,curse my typos. I meant September. I've been doing that a lot lately, lol.

The 360 has been consistently behind the Wii in terms of sales, moth after month. Now, finally, the 360's leading for a month, and I'm pretty sure that's what they meant by "takes the lead..."

Plus, the 360 ever falling behind in U.S sales figures just doesn't add up, if you look at the numbers. If the 360 moved ahead of the Wii in U.S sales this month, and they sold about a half million consoles, how are they already ahead by over 2 million units? It just doesn't add up.
